I have over 6 years of experience in Healthcare, Project Management, and Strategy consulting with a focus on both US Healthcare and Africa. A member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., I completed my undergraduate studies in Health & Societies and African Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. During the 3 year hiatus between completing my Bachelor’s and beginning my Masters, I worked as a Research Assistant at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Nursing, as well as an Emergency Medical Technician. Following my interests in leadership within healthcare, I was inspired to pursue a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Pitt Public Health.
This experience led to a deeper focus on finding solutions for quality and sustainable health innovations and my culminating Master’s Thesis which examined the intricacies of resuscitating a war-ravaged healthcare system in Liberia, West Africa. Upon graduation, I completed a Social Impact Fellowship via an initiative sponsored by my alma mater, Penn. The experience encouraged me to develop a business idea around my vision for social impact in the Liberian healthcare market. My most recent experience working as an Administrative Manager at a NYC hospital conglomerate has afforded me even more insight into the business of healthcare as I continue to fine tune my business plans for social entrepreneurship in the Liberian (African) healthcare landscape. I’m fluent in both French and Spanish and have a working knowledge of the Wolof, Fante, and Vai languages indigenous to West Africa (Senegal, Ghana, and Liberia respectively).
